The Board of Trustees of Greater Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $6,000 from The Fund for Islamic Understanding, Education and Dialog to support programs of four nonprofit organizations. The Fund for Islamic Understanding, Education and Dialog supports projects, programs or services that provide education opportunities that promote greater understanding of Muslims and the Islamic faith.

  • Habitat for Humanity – Maumee Valley – a $1,000 grant was awarded to support the 2023 Faith Build project.
  • Notre Dame Academy – a $2,000 grant was awarded to support the Muslim student prayer room project.  
  • The Foundation of the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, Inc. – a $2,000 grant was awarded to the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo weekender food bag program.
  • Toledo Muslim Doctors/Halim Clinic – a $1,000 grant was awarded to support dental and medical care for the uninsured.
